Australia has a rich mango tradition owing to its proximity to South East Asia. They have developed some excellent varieties, such as Kensington Pride, R2E2, Calypso, Honeygold etc.. Some of the popular Asian varieties, such as Nam Doc Mai also grow well in Australia. Mango is a summer fruit, so when it is winter in North America, it is mango time in Australia. The Australian mango was allowed into the USA in 2016.
