The Alphonso Mango season for 2010 is early. Our experts went on a trip to the Ratnagiri region in the beginning on March, some of the early fruit is already getting ready for shipping to Mumbai. It is expected that the season will be in full bloom by the first week of April. However US imports are allowed between April 10th and June end. The first shipment of the ZZ Ratnagiri Alphonso Mangoes is expected in the third week of April.

We were the largest US importer of the Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes in 2009. We were also the largest exporter of Indian Mangoes from the state of Maharashtra. We have been able to provide the Maharashtra Board with suggestions for improvement of the mango export process. Some of the suggestions have been accepted and implemented this year which will have a long-term impact on the quality of mangoes exported from the region. We have also implemented our own improvements which will further enhance quality of the mangoes.
